A breaking news report from India confirms an 11-month-old baby was allegedly abducted and raped by her neighbor in west Delhi’s Vikaspuri. The incident occurred last night at the location.
According to the report, a 36-year-old construction labourer has been arrested by police for the crime.
Police say the abused infant was sleeping with her mother at a make-shift shelter within the police housing complex at around 10pm when the accused rapist struck with horror.
The pedophile noticed his victim’s mother was fast asleep so he stole the baby and found use for her as a sex toy. He took the 11-month-old to a nearby jungle to satisfy his weird sexual appetite.
About 1 hour later, the mother realized her child was missing and alerted the police. It took another 1 hour before officers of the law could track down the suspect.
Senior police officers said that the survivor was found in an unconscious state by a police team from Vikaspuri police station.
At the spot where the police located the child, they also found a cell phone. “The police team was helped by the recovery of the mobile phone to track the location of the accused,” said the officer. “We traced him to the labour camp.”
The violated child was taken to her parents, who joined cops in the battle to save her life. She was admitted at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital’s intensive care unit.
“The girl was bleeding profusely. Doctors at the hospital have said that her condition is serious,” said a senior officer.
After his arrest, the accused initially denied being responsible for the crime but when interrogations proved hard to handle, the suspect admitted his sins.
An official statement from the police confirms the pedophile resides at Bihar and periodically travels to Delhi as a construction labourer.
“The survivor’s father and the accused were both employed by the same contractor to construct a boundary wall around the police office,” said the officer.
Police said the accused lived with the other labourers engaged in building the boundary wall. He told the officers that he picked up the child at around 10pm while the mom was asleep.
“He said he then took her to the bushes beside a drain and raped her for nearly two hours,” the officer said. “Fearing that she had died when she became unconscious, he left the child in the bushes and fled to his shack.”
The thoughtful rapist went home but kept his ears wide open so he would be one of the first responders when the mother raised alarm. By doing so, he was sure to avoid any suspicion.
When the girl’s mother screamed after realizing her child was missing, the suspect came around and made sure he was noticed. He was said to have joined police and family members in the search and rescue effort.
Pushpendra Kumar, DCP (West) said that a FIR for rape under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of the POCSO Act had been registered and the accused sent to Tihar Jail.
Police have also recorded the statements of the child’s parents. “I was horrified to see my daughter’s condition,” said the shocked father. “Her clothes were torn and she had nail marks all over the body. The severe injuries might have a lifelong impact on her health.”
Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal, visited the hospital and met the child’s family, reports confirm.
