The 57-year-old actress penned a revealing post for the Huffington Post on Thursday in which she explained she can relate to Prince.

“I too, waited anxiously for a prescription to be filled for the opiate I was secretly addicted to,” she wrote.

“I too, took too many at once. I too, sought to kill emotional and physical pain with pain killers. Kill it. Make it stop,” the emotional post continued.

Jamie Lee Curtis called herself lucky for surviving the addiction that followed a medical procedure. She has now been in recovery for 17 years, but knows others aren’t as fortunate.

“Once the phenomenon of craving sets in, it is often too late,” she said.
