Harrison Ford Fighting Epilepsy.

Thumbs up, Harrison Ford! The ‘Star Wars’ actor has put on sale in New York the battered leather jacket he wore in making the movie.

The jacket was put on auction to fight a cause very dear to his heart – epilepsy.

The 73-year-old donated Han Solo’s  “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” jacket as his contribution in raising research funds on epilepsy. Ford recently disclosed that his grown daughter Georgia Ford is suffering from the condition.

The actor revealed to reporters early in March that Georgia Ford, 26, suffered seizures as a child. The doctors at the Langone Medical center were able to diagnose the cause as epilepsy and the discovery assisted in her treatment so this is his own little way of saying “Thanks”.

Harrison expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by FACES (Finding a Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures) unit at New York University’s Langone Medical Center.

In his words:

“I hope this jacket will provide some means to further that exploration. This is  a cause that is near and dear to me and unlike the cynical Han Solo, I’ve got a good feeling about this.”

As at March 30, bidding for the jacket was $33,000. The auction continues online until April 11.
