Good News For China-U.S. Travelers

China’s Foreign Ministry has clarified that a U.S. visitor visa that allows Chinese nationals to enter the country unlimited times within 10 years is still valid.

The announcement is in response to media asking if Chinese visas will be affected by the US’s recent statement, which requires holders of 10-year visas to update their personal information online every two years.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Chinese nationals holding a 10-year business or tourism visitor visa will be required to complete an Electronic Visa Update System enrollment to enter the U.S., in addition to having a valid visa.

The new policy starts from this November.

A new system called EVUS will be used to collect information online from Chinese travelers to facilitate their visits to the US.

There will be a nominal fee to enroll with EVUS.

At the same time, the U.S. embassy has also announced that 10-year visitor visas for Chinese nationals remain valid.
