EPL vs LaLiga: Varane explains the difference

Manchester United defender, Raphael Varane, has opened up on the difference between the English Premier League, EPL, and the Spanish La Liga.

Varane, 29, spent 10 years in Spain with Real Madrid before joining Man United in the 2021 summer.

The France international has so far made 34 appearances for Manchester United across all competitions.

The centre-back has formed a central defensive partnership with Lisandro Martinez under new manager Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

Speaking with BeanymanSports, Varne highlighted the major differences between EPL and LaLiga, claiming the former is much faster.

Varane said, “I think in La Liga teams prepare more in the attacks; it’s very technical. In England, it is faster, more intense.

“There are more counter-attacks, so it’s a different (kind of) football. I like both styles, so it’s a different experience for me now.”
