Popular record producer and executive, Don Jazzy, has attributed some of his achievements in the entertainment industry to the support of ace musician Dbanj.

Dbanj and Don Jazzy

In an interview with Olajide Adesope tagged: “Don Jazzy on Afrobeats Podcast 50th Exclusive Edition”, the celebrated Mavin Records boss said Dbanj, the Kokomaster, was the ‘catalyst’ for his many achievements.

He said: “Dbanj is the creator/catalyst. If you leave me, every situation I’m in, it’s like I’m contented, I’m okay there.

“But Dbanj saw me and everything that people see in me now. He just sparked it in me.

“Left to me, I would have just been where I was and not do much about it. So, I would say he was that catalyst that said ‘Jazzy do this and that’.

Don Jazzy also noted that he was hurt when Wande Coal left Mavins.

“Wande Coal is a genius, an amazing vocalist we found at UNILAG (University of Lagos). I was hurt. Everyone hurts when a separation happens, whether it was amicable or not. You will hurt. Whether it was in peace or not in peace. I and Tiwa Savage are not fighting but I will still love to work with her. Whether you are fighting or not, it will still hurt. You have built friendship and will have to start building all over again. The Wande Coal exit hurt more. I even came on Twitter to talk about it. I was out of character. That has only happened to me twice in the industry. Some of my fans are still upset with me on that till today. Make una no vex”.
