Dog Turns To Stone Because She’s Afraid Of Human Touch, Now She Wants More.

After reading the headline, you’ll begin to ask out of curiosity if turning to stone could be a way this dog is protesting against humans for the evil done to animals.

A 5-year-old stray dog got so sick that her face turned to stone.

A report says one kind-hearted woman posted the dog’s picture on FaceBook seeking help for the poor thing before luck smiled on her. When the rescue organization came to take her away from the streets outside Athens, the dog made it almost impossible to approach.

She feared humans like death.

The dog was so scared, angry and gloomy–there’s no word to describe her feelings. She would run away at the sight of people coming too close.

But the experienced rescuers finally got to her.

The dog, later named Petra which means “stone” in Greek, had to be treated for everything ranging from mange to an infection spread by bugs, the report said.

“I don’t think she had ever been touched by a human before. Not even approached actually,” Save a Greek Stray shelter’s Valia Orfanidou.

As the determined experts continued with their rehabilitation procedures, it took a couple of weeks before Petra became more tolerant. Not only did she get so close to humans once again, the dog forgave and forgot every painful past.

The rescuers were so surprised at the miraculous turn of events as Petra started asking for something more.

“I could pet her before but she didn’t enjoy it – she didn’t understand what petting was about,” Orfanidou added.

“But after a couple of months she started asking for it, and she now loves to have her belly rubbed – she actually demands that you do it!”
