The star player who started his football career playing for Sao Paulo’s youth team [his hometown club], granted a press interview ahead of Madrid’s Champions League derby with Sporting CP on Wednesday.

“He knows he will not fail,” proclaimed the Brazilian midfielder, according to Football Espana.

“You learn something from every conversation that you have with him – it’s unique.

“Personally, I have to thank him for how much he has trusted me and let me be a part of the squad.

“He has given us all humility and we should be thankful to him!”

Casemiro is one of the new pearls of Brazilian football. While in Sao Paulo, the midfielder scored 11 goals in 112 official games before moving to Real Madrid in the 2012/13 season.

When he started playing for Real Madrid Castilla in 2012/13, he made an immediate impact with his versatility and personality. He also spent a season on loan at Porto.
