Barcelona star defender Gerard Pique has admitted that his club knew the Champions League match against Borussia Monchengladbach would be a hard task without an injured Lionel Messi, adding that the better team won in the end.

La Blaugranas went in for a tough test last night but were relentless in their efforts, having to come from behind to grab two goals at Borussia-Park.
An early goal from Thorgan Hazard broke the hearts of Barca fans who nervously cheered on their team until goals from Arda Turan and Pique snatched glory away from the hosts. The victory ensured Luis Enrique’s team left Germany as leaders in Group C.
“We knew it would be a difficult game as they are very dangerous on the counter attack and very quick,” Pique said in a post match conference.
“I think in the first half they scored a goal with the only chance they had, while we wasted several opportunities.
“In the second half we were much better, with more chances, more of the ball and with fewer chances for them. Because Barcelona had more of the ball and didn’t commit as many errors, there were fewer turnovers.”
