Barca Says Messi Won’t Leave The Club, Even After 2019.

Barcelona have insisted that their superstar Lionel Messi won’t leave the club as media reports say, following the fraud allegations from a Barcelona court. Though the famous No. 10 was slapped with a 12-month-jail and an option to pay fines, the court granted him a chance for an appeal on the case.

On behalf of the 29-year-old Argentine who argued that he was unaware of any financial crimes committed by his father or representatives, Barca fans are already protesting against the court sentence, calling it a “plot”.

As the World Best Player gets massive support from players and fans on the social media, Barca have squashed rumors linking Messi with a move to the Premier League.

Barca are confident of keeping their talisman, even after his current contract expires in 2019.

“We’ve maintained contact with [Messi’s] camp and we’re not aware that Leo wants to leave the club. They haven’t transmitted that feeling to us,” club spokesman Josep Vives told Cadena COPE.

“He isn’t planning to leave the club when his contract expires. We’re very calm and nothing has reached us [to suggest otherwise].”

  1. I believe he will stay put in Barca to make more history. Ronaldo won’t likely leave, too. They are writing historical books and if moving away will only put a stop to all the records, why stop now?
