50 Cent Tenders Unreserved Apologies With $100,000

In the aftermath of a viral video posted online by 50 Cent which attracted hate and criticisms, the rapper has made efforts to tender costly apologies.

In the video, he was seen mocking a teen janitor at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, calling him names and accusing the assault victim of being high on drugs.

Reports confirm that the ‘Get Rich Or Die Trying’ rapper has decided to apologize by donating $100,000 to Autism Speaks.

The controversial clip to Instagram and Twitter posted last Sunday, showed him making fun of a 19-year-old autistic airport janitor Andrew Farrell.

50 Cent removed the video though it was later re-posted to YouTube, he tendered an apology. Farrell’s family believed the damage was already done and nothing could assuage the pain. They therefore, urged the rapper to show his sincerity with a donation to autism advocacy groups.

“All we are asking is for 50 Cent to donate to Autism Speaks,” Andrew Farrell’s father Kent told the Daily News.

In a surprise reaction Thursday afternoon, the rapper spent a whooping 100 grand.

50 Cent accused airport janitor Andrew Farrell of being on drugs and made fun of him in a video that went viral.

“I want to turn this misunderstanding into an understanding. There are people that are ignored, mistreated and neglected with disabilities that need our support,” he said in a statement released to the Daily News.

“Today, I have made a donation of $100,000 to this worthy cause through Autism Speaks. I am calling on my fellow musicians, actors, entertainers and all others who may not have fully considered this cause to join together to help in any way they can.”

Another celeb who jumped on the cause was the publicly reviled “pharma bro” Martin Shkreli, who pledged to donate $10,000.

The announcement of Fiddy’s generosity comes at a difficult time for the rapper, who filed for bankruptcy last year but what he did was an act of courage.
