50 Cent Arrested For Using Indecent Language On Stage.

50 Cent got himself arrested once again on his trip to St. Kitts musical festival where over 40,000 concertgoers were in attendance. The “Get Rich Or Die Trying” rapper went against the law by using ‘indecent language’ during his performance at the show on Saturday night.

The U.S. rapper and a member of his entourage were briefly detained in St. Kitts and Nevis, reports confirm.

50 Cent, who performs expletive-filled raps, reportedly said “motherf**ker” during his performance of P.I.M.P. on set. He failed to heed warnings from local police who had earlier warned him of the consequences.

Police officers promptly arrived on the scene June 25, and arrested 50 Cent [real name Curtis Jackson]. He was thereafter booked for using profanity in public.

Although the offence is said to be minor according to the laws, Curtis had to remain on the island until today June 27 for a court appearance during which it is speculated that he must have paid a fine before discharge.

The 40-year-old rapper has been released, reports confirm.

While the Power star initially had to “surrender his travel documents” ahead of a court appearance on today, according to police, his rep tells Yahoo that the issue is already resolved–so he’s currently headed back to the U.S.

“Mr. Jackson was only booked to host the show,” explained his spokeswoman, Amanda Ruisi. “When he arrived at the festival, organizers asked him to perform, he obliged, and used the DJ they had there. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the clean version to his tracks, so there were profanities used during his performance. The show was a great success, and he will make sure for future trips to St. Kitts that he leaves the ‘motherf*****s’ in the United States.”

She added, “He went to court today and paid a fine and is on his way home.”

50 Cent is having a tough time keeping his lips sealed from profanity outside the U.S., especially on the island. This isn’t the first time he’s been charged for such offenses in St. Kitts.

Similarly, in 2003, DMX was arrested for using profanity at the same music festival.

At the time, Information Minister Jacinth Henry Martin said, “There was a contract signed in which it was made very clear long before the arrival of the artists that there are laws in St. Kitts that do not take kindly to the use of indecent language on stage,”

But the rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, insisted he hadn’t signed any contract because he wouldn’t have agreed to perform if he had to censor his songs.

Reports confirm that under the country’s Small Charges Act, it is a misdemeanor offense to use profane words in any public place in this former British colony of around 40,000 people.

Police say an offender could be sent to jail depending on how serious the violation is considered to be.
