5 amazing things you probably didn’t know any Mobile Phone can do

In grave emergencies, your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an important tool for survival.

Here are a few things you probably didn’t know about your handheld device:

Emergency Services:

The global Emergency Number for all Mobile Phones is 112.

If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there’s an emergency, dial 112. Your mobile phone will search the existing network in your location to establish the emergency number immediately.

Interestingly, the numbers 112 can be dialed even on a lock screen.

This works on all phones around the world, and is free.

Retrieve you car keys when locked inside the vehicle.

If you’ve ever locked your car keys in the vehicle, you must have learnt how stressful and time-consuming that can be. But here’s a chance for people who don’t wish to learn the hard way.

If you lock your remote/keyless car keys in the vehicle and the spare is at home, call someone in the house on their mobile phone, from yours, of course.

Move about an inch closer to the car door and ask the person you called to press the UNLOCK button on the spare key while holding it near the connected phone.

This trick will unlock your door and save you the stress of having to get home to grab the spare which could be miles away.

Your phone has an extra battery you never get to use:

Is your mobile phone battery always running flat, especially when you have urgent need for it? Don’t worry. All phones, including yours, have some hidden battery powers.

To activate this, press *3370#

Don’t forget to use the asterisk, but you must apply this trick when your phone is almost dead.

You will then see your mobile phone restarting in a very special way and powering up with about 50 percent increase in battery life.

Better still, the reserve battery will be charged when next you plug in your phone to a power supply.

This secret is always in the fine print which nobody cares to read.

Disabling stolen mobile phones:

Everyday may be for the thief, but the owner has an equally unlimited number of days to turn a criminal’s efforts into some moulds of shit.

You can use your phone’s serial keys to do this.

Type in * # 0 6 # and your 15-digit code will appear on the screen. Copy it out and keep the information somewhere safe.

Once your phone is stolen or snatched by criminals, contact your service provider immediately and give them the code. It’s enable them lock your handset for good, even if the SIM has been changed.

It’s comforting to know that if you can’t have your phone back, at least, the criminals won’t get to either use or sell the device.

This knowledge will help keep our streets and homes safe from phone thieves.

Report ATM thieves:

Everyone hates armed robbers, so if you’re ever attacked, kidnapped or forced to key in your passwords at an ATM machine, don’t worry. You can alert the police by entering your PIN # in reverse.

For example, if your ATM password is 123456, you can enter it as 654321 and add a # sign to it. If it doesn’t work, enter your secret codes in reverse only.

The machine will recognize your pass codes and know that it has been entered backwards. It’ll go ahead to dispense the card, but not without alerting security operatives that a financial crime has just been committed.

All ATM’s use this emergency sequencer by law.

Crime Stoppers recently revealed this knowledge in a broadcast. It has always been there except that we didn’t know about it.

*If you found this interesting, pass it around and save someone some troubles.
