Saliba remains loyal to Arsenal despite interest from other European clubs

William Saliba insists he will remain at Arsenal next season despite saying it is a “shame” to be leaving Marseille, in an interview with France’s Telefoot.

Saliba spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Marseille and helped the Ligue 1 side to return to the Champions League.

The 21-year-old joined the Gunners three years ago but is yet to play a game for the side after spending the last three seasons back on loan in France – but Saliba says he will return to the Emirates.

“I belong to Arsenal, I still have two years left,” he said.

“I will be back with Arsenal. I have played zero matches and I still want to show them my true face and have the chance to play for these fans and this great club.

“Even if I don’t come back to Marseille, I’ll never forget. Thanks to Marseille, I’ve come through a great milestone and it was they who helped boost my confidence.”
